Methow Valley Fall 2011

That is right after buckets of unusually ginormous amounts of rain for the sunny dry slopes of the East Cascades of North Central Washington, the sun has returned, and all the fall colors came flying back with warm temperatures in the 70’s.  Layers are best for the dramatic range in temperatures in the unpredictable fall and spring weather of Methow Valley.

Nights can be below 32 and mornings also a bit chilly. The wood stoves are getting fired up on a regular basis each night.  Mornings can be a frosted wonder waiting for the sun to rise up over the mountains and bring on the warmth and glow of the brilliant fall colors. Golden fields with flashy orange, yellow, purple and red foliage anchored to a back drop of the constant steady green of the pine and fir trees of the Okanogan.  Biking is a great way to check out all the fall beauty right now.
